When you first use the MAESTRO the list of devices that appear on the display screen
includes TV, VCR, Cable, and MISC. However you can set up on any combination of up to eight devices on your remote.
Adding a Device
To Add a Device:
Press SHIFT - VCRPRO - 8
At "Add another device" Press YES
Press NO or YES to find the type of device you want to add
When you find the proper device press ENTER
Set up your device according to the instructions above.
Deleting a Device
To delete a device:
Press NO or YES until the device you want to delete appears on the remote screen
Press SHIFT - VCRPRO - 8
At "Add another Device" Press NO
At "Delete ? Y/N" Press YES.
The MAESTRO will automatically return to the main menu.
Device Mover
To change a DEVICE key to set up a different device on it
Look up the set up code for the device you want to set up.
Press NO or YES until the device you want to delete appears on the remote screen
Press SHIFT - VCRPRO - 2 -
Press the NO or YES until the device you want to change to is on the screen.
Press ENTER
Enter the code for your device.
Aim your MAESTRO at your device and press POWER.
Your device should turn off.
The MAESTRO can be used to change channels through your Cable Box or VCR.
If you use either of these to change channels, you must set your MAESTRO.
Cable Box Users
If you use a Cable Box to change channels, you must set the MAESTRO for CABLE.
Press SHIFT - VCRPRO - 3
Press YES or NO until CABLE appears on the screen
Press PLAY to advance the screen
Enter the channel (from the choices on the screen) that your VCR requires for you to
view cable programs. Use the number keys to do this.
The screen will ask you about Custom Setup - Press NO
The screen will ask about a Test Record - Press YES
The display screen will guide you. Remember, you must aim the VCRPRO at your VCR during
this entire procedure.
Doing a test record will ensure that you have programmed the MAESTRO correctly to record cable channels through your VCR.
Non-Cable Box Users
If you do not use a Cable Box to change channels, you must set the MAESTRO to VCR.
Press SHIFT - VCRPRO - 3
press YES or NO until VCR appears on the screen - PLAY to advance
The screen will ask you about Custom Setup - Press NO
The screen will ask about a Test Record - Press YES
The display screen will guide you. Remember, you must aim the MAESTRO at your VCR during
this entire procedure.
Doing a test record will ensure that you have programmed the VCRPRO correctly to record cable channels through your VCR.
To program your MAESTRO for one-time recording, follow the instructions below:
Press VCRPRO
To Daily/Weekly press NO
Enter the channel you wish to record, using the number keys.
Enter the start time, using the number keys,
Enter AM/PM using the 8 or 9 keys
Use the PLAY key if you have to advance the screen.
Enter the length of the program you wish to record using the number keys,
For example 1 hour is 1:00.
Enter the date of the event you wish to record, using the number keys, and the month using the YES and NO keys.
Press PLAY to accept the screen.
The screen will display the date, time and length of the recording you have just programmed.
Set your VCRPRO down, aiming it at your VCR. Also, make sure your VCR is off and you
have a tape inserted. If you use a Cable Box, make sure it is also off.
If the VCRPRO displays Conflict, you have programmed two events to record
at the same time. To fix this, follow the steps under CLEAR below.
To program another event follow steps 1 through 8 again. At step one the screen will ask you to add another event.
Press YES and continue with the instructions.
Daily/Weekly Recording
To program the VCRPRO to record daily or weekly.
Press VCRPRO
To Daily/Weekly, Press YES
Enter the date of the event you wish to record, using the number keys,And the month using the YES and NO keys.
Press PLAY to accept the screen.
Enter the channel you wish to record, using the number keys.
Enter the start time using the number keys. Enter the AM/PM using the 8 and 9 keys.
Press the PLAY key to advance the screen if AM/PM is left unchanged.
Enter the length of the program you wish to record using the number keys,
For example 1 hour is 1:00.
Enter the date of the event you wish to record, using the number keys,And the month using the YES and NO keys.
Press PLAY to accept the screen.
The VCRPRO will automatically set the day of the week and the year,
Press PLAY to advance the screen.
The VCRPRO will display the date, time, and length, of the recording you have just programmed.
Set your VCRPRO down, aiming it at your VCR, Also make sure your VCR is off and you have a tape inserted. If you use a Cable Box, make sure it is also off.
If the VCRPRO displays CONFLICT, you have programmed two events to record at the same time. To fix this, follow the steps under CLEAR below.
To Record What You Are Watching
Put a tape in your VCR
Press R (the record key) twice. The VCRPRO will begin recording.
Press S (the stop key ) to stop recording.
Review
To review the programs you've decided to tape:
Press VCRPRO
At "Add a new event" press NO
The screen will display your next scheduled event.
Press NO to scroll through the rest of your entries.
Press VCRPRO to exit.
Clear
To clear an old program or an incorrect entry:
Press VCRPRO
At "Add an Event" press NO
Press NO to scroll through the entries until you find the one to delete.
Press M (the MUTE key)
At "Delete?" Press YES to delete the setting.
Press VCRPRO to exit.
